ARNP Amy judged me and dragged me to talk about my marriage for hour long, didn’t provide any physical examination. She was trying to be a therapist or preacher or I don’t know what. Made me feel extremely stressed and sad.

Intake nurse badly and absurdly misheard me, assuming the worst (& the exact opposite of what was happening) even though it made literally no sense whatsoever and went against the stuff right in front of her face on my chart, and then loudly mocked the behavior she made up in very easy hearing range. She also left that mockery in the intake notes. I think Overlake doesn't do sensitivity training at all. Missed some really major details with the doctor because I was so done with the entire situation, but we probably got the gist of it sorted out. I am lucky google exists, I guess, since I can't rely on Overlake medical professionals to listen with their listening ears. The doctor was fine, I don't know, that was probably the worst introduction possible so I don't want to hold the poor communication against her. But she did not correct the nurse.

Yury Ragoza is my new GP, he is really easy to work with, created a medical plan for me in the first real session. Looking forward to having him be my GP for a long time. He really thinks outside the box, asks really great questions to get to the bottom of the issues and make a priority medical plan.

Dr Amy is nice. I thought I would get a follow up call, email or something, after the test results came in. An important missed opportunity for meaningful engagement and making sure I understand the test results. However, I received an email for this, that must be more important and a need for ratings. The nurse should work on the way she ask questions and how she communicates if there are certain responses she would like. For example: Are you getting a Pap smear? I responded, “I don’t know.” She responded, “It’s a yes or no question.” First of all, it’s my first time appointment, I don’t know what is planned for this visit. A better way to ask is, “Would you like a Pap smear done during this visit? Let’s work on being intentional and practice thoughtful customer service.

The clinic was easy to find and the check-in was smooth and quick. I was called in pretty quick and the MA, Wendy, quickly did my vitals. She was very pleasant and we had a good conversation and she didn't make me seem rushed. Amy Ly was great! She was super chill, took time to chat with me, asked me if I had any questions or concerns and complete the visit in time...again, did not make me feel rushed. It could also be that my appointment was later in the day :)
